Vicar Karl, his wife Stephanie, and their two children, Michaela and Noah, come to Salem Lutheran from St. Louis, Missouri where Karl is a student at Concordia Seminary. Vicar Karl grew up on a farm in rural Steelville, Missouri and attended Concordia University-Nebraska, where he graduated in May 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in history, along with a pre-seminary certification. Vicar Karl met Stephanie while at Seward. She is a commissioned Director of Parish Music with organ as her primary instrument. Following their graduations from Concordia University, Karl and Stephanie accepted positions on the Gulf coast. Karl served as the executive director of Camp Dixie Lutheran Outdoor Ministry Center in Elberta, Alabama, while Stephanie was the Minister of Music at Grace Lutheran Church in Pensacola, Florida. In May 2006, Karl began his journey at the seminary and is very pleased to have received his vicarage assignment at Salem Lutheran. He wants everyone to know that his office door is always open and his ears are always ready to listen. Feel free to contact him by phone at 548-3190 or by e-mail at GibbsK@csl.edu
